BAC ONE ELEVEN 1-11 50TH ANNIVERSARY

This year is the 50th anniversary of the BAC One Eleven. This was celebrated at Brooklands Aviation Museum on the 20th August 2013. Some one hundred plus invited guests assembled to celebrate this anniversary. Among other speakers the archivist had been invited to speak about the Eagle 1-11 operation.

Official figures published by CAB clearly establish that the BAC One-Eleven is, by a substantial margin, the most economical short-haul jet in the world. It is cheaper to operate either by aircraft mile or flying hour than any of its competitors.
